At the heart of the VidyoConferencing solution is the VidyoRouter, a breakthrough in technology that introduces a major architectural change away from traditional video conferencing systems that have not taken advantage of the obvious efficiencies of utilising the Internet. With Vidyo's technology, all encoding and decoding occurs at the endpoints, leaving only video routing to be accomplished within the network. This approach reduces latency.

The VidyoRouter significantly improves network utilisation efficiency by only sending as many packets to an endpoint that it can handle, due either to limitations in bandwidth, processing power or display options and resolution.
